We have perforated rubber grass mats which are reinforced with mesh to give a bounce and a spring to foot, which gives some deflection if a child falls. Compared to falling onto concrete, this is ideal as it absorbs the shock and vastly reduces the amount of injuries on the playground. A safety surface is important to us to ensure protection

As we want to make you feel confident about your pupils’ safety, we have a good range of surfaces that are weather resistant and if you choose artificial grass, you can reproduce the look and feel of grass but with added shock pads to stop injuries after fall. Depending on which of our wooden playground equipment that is being used, such as chin up bars or overhead ladder bars, will dictate what safety surface to use. For some schools, perforated rubber grass mats are ideal, whereas an open parkland with low height activities might benefits synthetic all weather surfacing.

As soon as children enter the school they are the responsibility of the school and that means you need to do everything within your power to protect them. As children are always learning about new and exciting things, and have wild imaginations, they can often fall or slip during play times, and that’s where minimising the risk of injury is required. Using a softer, spongier or shock absorbing pads on the floor outside is one way of making sure that if and when children trip or fall from the outdoor play areas that the safety surface will do as much as possible in making sure the child does not hurt themselves.

We have a good range of brightly coloured wet pour all weather surfaces which are available as patterns, different colours or plain black. Our artificial grass can be multi-toned so it looks like the real thing, but it can have added shock pads underneath to give that soft feel. These are ideal for high bars and climbing apparatus where children will think they’re invincible but a fall is usually inevitable.
